It never gets old seeing new children's picture books, especially when they are self-published by everyday people like me. I always wanted to be an author (and illustrator), but I never really thought it was possible. For so long, it didn't even occur to me to try. No art classes. No writing classes. I doubt I would admit that I loved to write, even though I absolutely do- well children's stories that is.Β
My newest author friend, Marlo has a story similar to mine. Her inspiration was her son and a real experience she had on her parenting adventure. My first book "I'm Your Mommy" was inspired by my daughter too! Like me, Marlo had the idea for a very long time before moving forward and I'm so glad she finally did! God's timing is ALWAYS perfect!
Her inspiration was one that every parent will eventually experience....bedtime struggles! Landon, then in kindergarten, wasn't sleepy and didn't want to go to bed. Marlo pulled a trick out of her parenting hat and got to work on motivating him using his imagination. "The popsicles in space conversation on the 'Monday' page is the one I had with Landon that night." she said.
Back then, her creative parenting was successful, and he went to bed happy and with wonder. Here we are in 2024 and Landon, now in 8th grade, can celebrate another success of hers. Beaming with pride, he now has her dream in his hand to share with the world!Β
It is my honor and privilege to now have another self-published book added to my library! You can get your copy of "Popsicles in Space" through her website www.PopsiclesInSpace.com or on Amazon.Β
Those of you who are still dreaming of your children's book, self-publishing is something that you absolutely CAN do! There are many people out there who have already done it! I'm happy to share what I've learned and help you make it happen too! Please don't leave this world with your ideas inside of you! Do it! Terri Savelle Foy said, "Someone is waiting on the other side of your obedience." Someone is waiting and needs to hear your story!Β
Blast off into dreamland with "Popsicles in Space!" Does your child find every reason under the sun NOT to go to bed? Well, Landon isn't sleepy either! Follow along as he goes on many imaginative adventures that are out-of-this-world!
"Popsicles in Space" is relevant for young families everywhere! Imagination is like a muscle. The more we use it, the stronger it gets. It is one of those oh-so-important skills for children to use every day! Creativity is a gift that God has given every single one of us. This story helps to foster every reader's imagination-young and old!
Follow the example of Landon and his mama with a bedtime routine in your own home. Enjoy the colorful pictures and create your own special bedtime memories. As an added bonus, readers can review the days of the week and practice a count-down from 5 to 1.
This was a lovely story and would be a great addition to anyone's home library! My family and I loved it
